This trip is to be taken from September 24th to September 26th, 2025. A truly unique outdoor adventure for four people during the PA Elk rut that includes two overnight accommodations, a horse-drawn wagon ride through Elk Country & an after-dark experience in some of the most remote country that PA has to offer. An Elk Country wagon ride is an awesome experience! The wagon will be pulled by our experienced team of Belgium horses across 245 acres of pristine elk habitat. The 45-minute wagon ride departs from the Elk Co. Visitor Ctr. on September 25th, 2025, at 6:15pm & it's common to see elk, deer, turkey & other wildlife. Elk Country after dark is an experience like no other. On a clear night you'll be amazed by the dark skies and may hear the bugles of herd bulls, the mews of a matriarch cow, clashing of antlers, along with sounds of coyotes, owls & other creatures of the night. Following your wagon ride, a social event will be held in the Outdoor Classroom featuring various meats, cheeses, fruit, vegetables & dip as well as beverages (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) and desserts. Around 8 pm, a short presentation will be given by the staff. After the presentation the group will be guided to the trail head areas to sit back & relax while taking in the sounds & wonder of Elk Country after dark. Two nights’ accommodation will be provided at Wapita Woods Cabins – Cabin No. 3, two (2) queen beds with furnished great room and kitchen combo on Sept. 24th and 25th. This experience will be something that you will never forget.
