DESCRIPTION
9" x 12.5". Framed image of Maggie Turner, who married rodeo performer Bill Pickett in 1890. Maggie was born the enslaved daughter of a white plantation owner. Together the couple had nine children, and was buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma after she died in 1929 at the age of 50. Rear of frame marked in pencil "1899" and in modern marker "Bill Pickett wife" **Good condition. Some wear to mount and sealing material.** $50-$150
