Made in Germany by J.P. Sauer in 1912. Blued 27" Krupp steel Nitro marked barrels in 16 gauge over 8x58R caliber. Barrels have raised maker marked matted rib, rifle sights, and extractors. Case-hardened full coverage engraved sidelock action with Doll's Head rib, double triggers (front is set), Holland and Holland cocking indicators, and top tang safety. Action has floral and vignette engraving with hirsch on right and deer and duck on left with block and line engraving on bottom of receiver . Rifle has horn trigger guard, butt plate, and grip cap. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with right handed cheekpiece, and a fully engraved bullet trap with Bird scene. Matching walnut shaped checkered forearm with engraved latch release. LOP: 13-1/4". DAC: 1-1/2". DAH: 2-1/4". CALIBER: 16/8x58R. S/N: 11803. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Overall 80% fading original barrel blue with edges worn silver and some light freckling. 10% fading action colors with sharp engraving. Wood has traces of original hand-rubbed finish with ding in checkering and some light scratches. Excellent bores and mechanics. Should have rifle caliber confirmed by qualified gunsmith.
