BULGARIAN CONTRACT LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH CASE & ACCESSORIES. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 085von250B. Bbl. 4 3/4". One of only 250 Model 1906 7th anniversary Bulgarian contract Lugers mfg. by Mauser. This example, mfg. in 1977, is marked with the Bulgarian coat of arms on the bbl. extension over the chamber, with the S# and Interarms' importer information marked on the right, and a German Eagle/N commercial on the left. Bbl. extension lug is marked with the Mauser banner logo. Left side of the frame is marked with an Eagle/N, followed by an "HH" (77) date code, and an Ulm Proof House antler stamp, followed by "75 Jahre/ Parabellum - Pistole/ Konigreich Bulgarien" (75 Years/ Parabellum - Pistol/ Kingdom of Bulgaria) marked in gold characters. Right side of the frame is marked with the S#, with "Made in Germany" marked on the rear. Safety marking is in Cyrillic. Top of the bbl. is marked with the cal. designation as well as with another Eagle/N commercial nitro proof, with the toggle exhibiting the intertwined "DWM" monogram in gold characters within an oval panel. Major metal components exhibit a blue finish, with some smaller components, including the takedown lever, trigger, grooved mag. release button, safety lever, and ejector, exhibiting a strawed finish. Grip screws exhibit a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Additional features include a blade front sight, a U-notch rear sight, grip safety, and dished toggles. MAGS: 2 8-rd black plastic bottom mags. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leatherette display case embossed with the Mauser banner logo in gold on the lid. Case features a red velvet-lined interior and contains 1 spare mag, 1 loading tool, 1 cleaning rod, as well as matching factory paperwork. Also accompanying this example is an Interarms brown leather holster. CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes overall, save for some very light wear on the left side of the frame from operation of the takedown lever. Mirror bore, exhibiting some grease and retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some light smoothing from handling but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Leatherette case exhibits some light wear at the corners and a few small marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good overall. Holster exhibits some scattered handling marks overall but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. A very attractive example of a rare Mauser Bulgarian contract, commemorative Luger, that one would find difficult to upgrade from. PROVENANCE: the collection of Gun Sport Ltd., owned by Jon R.
