REVOLVER. Cal. 39 (80 bore). S# 129. Bbl. 5.5" oct. w/ London proof “L.A.C”. Bbl., frame, lock, hammer, trigger guard, butt cap & cyl. engraved w/ foliate scroll; right side of frame engraved in ribbon “KERR’S PATENT No. 129”; lock engraved LONDON ARMOURY / BERMONDSEY”. Checkered & varnished walnut grip w/ oval silver escutcheon: “HCL from FC” in script monograms. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Mahogany casing w/ green baize lining, brass mold w/ sprue cutter, Dixon pewter oiler, unmarked bag flask, wood & brass cleaning tool, wood handled nipple wrench, red labeled cap tin. First model Kerr’s were made up to about S# 1000, few are cased or engraved. After S# 1000, revolvers are 54 bore & most were sold to the Confederacy. After the war at about S# 11,000, the last few hundred sold in the civilian market w/ several cased & engraved like this one. CONDITION: revolver is good to very good overall retaining traces of blue in protected areas, overall gray patina w/ crisp markings & engraving. Grips are good w/ small gap on left side abutting frame. Mechanics need attention. Bright crisp rifled bore. Brass bound mahogany case is very good w/ vacant round edge decorated escutcheon in lid, lining soiled & scuffed. “Adams 1852” marked 80 bore mold is smooth mixed chocolate patina, unmarked bag flask has medium mustard patina, Dixon pewter oiler has gray patina & dent on one side. Cap tin has good label. 2 Wood handle tools are good. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19225/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,500-3,000.
