RARE EARLY 1900's FN Belgium Anson Fusil 12 GA Two Barrel SxS Set Engraved by Rene DeWil with Case
Four digit serial number, manufactured in the early 1900's by Fabrique Nationale in Belgium. Known as the Anson Fusil boxlock. These were typically custom ordered during the production of the Auto 5, and rarely imported into the US! Matching serial number on the water table and bottom of both barrels. Features two 12 gauge blued barrel sets, both with solid rib. One choked Full/Improved and the other barrel choked Improved cylinder. Both barrels are stamped on top "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE - HERSTAL BELGIQUE" with a nickel bead front sight. Liege and Nitro Proof marks on the bottom of both barrels. Coin finished receiver features original custom scroll and floral engraving on the screws, fences, bottom tang and release lever. Later custom engraving done by master engraver Rene DeWil. Features dog and quail scene on the left panel, dog and rabbit scene on the right panel, ducks in flight on the trigger guard and quails in a woodland scene on the bottom. Left panel is signed "R.DEWIL". Double triggers and tang mounted safety. Walnut straight grip stock and beavertail forearm, both hand-checkered. Fitted with a red ventilated recoil pad. Set comes in a leather take-down case with green felt lining. LOP: 15". DAC: 1". DAH: 1-1/4". CALIBER: 12 GA. S/N: 2286. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Great condition overall, retains 90% finish with light handling marks on the barrels and areas of discoloration on the action. Stock shows light field use with a few minor dings. Excellent bores and good mechanics. Case shows scuffs on the edges of the leather and light handling wear.
