RARE Highly Desirable Early 1900's Winchester Tiger Oak & Glass Retail Store Display Cabinet
This stunning factory retail display cabinet was manufactured by the Walrus Manufacturing Co in the early 1900s to aid Winchester dealers in displaying their Winchester long guns. Walrus Manufacturing Co's brass plaque is present on the bottom of floor plate. It is constructed of tiger oak and walnut with full length crude glass panels that dates this previous to 1920. A detachable cathedral top with glass panels and wood finial sets firmly on top. Height is approximately 73" on its four legs with brass sheathed feet, and each side is approximately 18" wide. The inside display height is approximately 45". Interior four sided racks will accommodate up to 20 long guns. All four sides are 5/8 inch thick and are marked "WINCHESTER" in black outlined red letters with black lettered "PATENT APPLIED FOR" on a white background below. The bottom of the case and the inner edge of the rack is lined with green felt. An absolute must have for display of any fine Winchester collection!
CONDITION
Great condition overall, with some scattered light handling and storage marks. Light crazing in the original varnish, mildly faded labels and felt. Crude glass does show some waviness and bubbles done during the manufacture process.
