RARE LATE WAR POLICE MARKED WALTHER  AC  CODE
MODEL PP SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 375265P. Bbl. 3 7/8". Model PP semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther during the latter end of World War II. These "ac" coded Model PP pistols were hastily assembled by unskilled workers at the Walther arsenal in an attempt to meet the dire armament requirements imposed by the German military. The left side of the slide is appropriately blank, with the S# marked on the right above Walther's "ac" mfg. code. Left side of frame is stamped with an Eagle/F police proof, with the S# marked on the right. Right side of slide, chamber, and bbl. exhibit an Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther banner checkered black plastic grips. MAGS: 2 7-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster marked "1934" above an Eagle/WaA6 proof and "G.J.Ensink&Co./ OHRDRUF" on the rear, and containing 1 spare mag. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a gray patina overall, with areas of light to mild pitting present on the right side of the frame and slide. Mirror bore, exhibiting a couple small spots of very light pitting towards the muzzle and retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some spots of light age related cracking and crazing overall. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Joel Thone. (24-1492/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
