COVERSION UNIT & EXTRAS. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 2425418. Bbl. 5"; correct Type 18 High Standard. Mfg. 1945 for Army contract; one of larger groups supplied at 110,400 units. Per Harrison's reference, all correct parts & features including Keyes Fibre brown plastic grips w/ reinforcing rings around grip screws. Trigger guard markings of "4" at left top front plus right w/ "C" at top front & "H" at bottom rear. Properly parkerized including small parts; blued bbl. MAGS: 2 TOTAL; good WW-I Risdon 2 tone 7 rd. w/ scattered light pitting & oxidation. Very good Colt 10 rd. 22 LR conversion mag. w/ early aluminum follower. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1949-1955 Conversion Unit (determined by Coltmaster adjustable rear sight). Very good having some faint marks plus light cleaned oxidation along edge of matte top. Stained appearance on bbl. & floating chamber at port area; near excellent bore. Original appearing bbl. bushing plus plum toned aftermarket bushing. Blued slide stop, recoil spring & sear. Missing conversion unit ejector. Near excellent Cocobolo grips of early double diamond checkered military style. Good to very good (solid & complete w/ numerous scuffs & light marks) 1944 dated shoulder holster rig having Lift the Dot snap on retaining strap. Marked w/ "U. S." & "ENGER - KRESS". Bottom rear of back inked "T.A. HOBBS". CONDITION: very good condition w/ frame appearing grey & balance darker finished; appears original. Typical light high point use wear plus light marks in area by joining of trigger guard & frame at right front. Fine row of cleaned faint oxidation on right of slide along line of curved top & side from port to muzzle. Very good to excellent grips having hint of hand wear. Very good bore w/ hint of wear plus extremely faint frosting. (23-4902/NW). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
