Cal. 7.63mm. S# 321803. Bbl. 5 1/2". C96 semi-automatic pistol, mfg. by Mauser. The top flat of the faceted breech is marked with Mauser's 3-line mfg. information, with the S# marked on the left quarter flat. Left flat is marked with a double-crowned "U" commercial proof on the left flat, with a military acceptance proof marked on the right flat. Rear grip strap is stamped "7,63", with the stock slot having been ground off, indicating rework status under the Treaty of Versailles. Metal components exhibit an arsenal reapplied blue finish overall. Bolt assembly is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Standard blade front sight with tangent rear sight graduated from 50-1000. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, floorplate, lock frame, sear, locking block, hammer, bbl./bbl. extension, bolt stop, bolt, as well as the grips. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some light wear, scattered spots of light surface oxidation, as well as a few spots/areas of light pitting that are present beneath the finish. Bright bore, exhibiting mild to moderate pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout.
