MODEL DRAGOON COMMEMORATIVE REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 125. Bbl. 7 1/2", round with octagon shaft. Six-shot round, Texas Ranger scene, roll-engraved cyl. Frame, bbl., loading lever, and grip straps have vine-type foliate scroll hand engraving in the style of Gustave Young. Hammer has wolf's head engraving. Left side of bbl. is marked "IN COMEMMORATION OF COL. / SAMl COLT & THE GREAT EXHIBITION OF 1851". Bbl. and cyl. have a brightly polished blued finish. Frame, hammer, and loading lever are case-colored. Square back trigger guard and backstrap have a silver finish. One-piece walnut grips. Sterling silver oval plate on left panel is inscribed "ROYAL / ARMOURIES / AT THE / TOWER OF LONDON". Limited issue of 1,000 mfg. in 1989 by ASM for the US Historical Society. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wooden presentation case with blue velour fitted interior. Case contains powder flask, 2-cavity mold, cap tin, nipple wrench, and case key. Brass plate on the lid commemorates this special edition made for the Tower of London Royal Armouries. CONDITION: appears unused, retaining nearly all original finish. Bright, near excellent bore.
