Rare and Desirable Borchardt Model 1893 Semi-Automatic Pistol, by Loewe, with case and accessories, #66, 7.62x25mm Borchardt, 7-1/2'' barrel, blue finish with straw and niter-blue small parts, finely checkered walnut grips with smooth border, right side of frame marked with 1st Type ''System Borchardt.Patent.'' markings; top of toggle marked ''D.R.P./No. 75837'' denoting patent; ''Waffenfabrick Loewe/Berlin'' to chamber area. In modern case, with combination shoulder stock/holster, as well as screwdriver, cheekpiece, lubricating tin, and magazine hold-open device/oiler. Condition is about fine with light toning and scattered pitting to left side of barrel, both sides near recoil spring, and with light general thinning. Grips with very minor flattening to checks and small impressions. Magazine hold-open device and combination oiler is a modern reproduction, as is cheekpiece assembly and screwdriver. Action functions as designed, bore is fine. Leather holster has been re-dyed black. Case is more modern and has been lined in green felt, much like the originals. An excellent example of the first successful semi-automatic pistol. Est.: $15,000-$20,000. (Antique)
