Rare Early Production Belgium Browning SA Grade III Semi-Automatic Rifle
Made in Herstal, Belgium by Browning in 1957. This is the 2nd year of importation of this model. 19-1/4" blued fluid steel round barrel with bead pedestal front sight and desirable early "Wheel" rear sight with Browning St. Louis, Missouri address in 22 Long Rifle caliber. Satin finished takedown action with early Grade III engraving featuring setter flushing ducks on right side and setter chasing pheasants on left with floral and dog holding bird scene on top with gold-plated trigger and push button safety. Unfortunately not engraver signed but some of the best early guns were Felix Funken engraved. Blonde walnut pistol grip stock with side loading port, skip-line checkering, and blued serrated serial numbered butt plate. Matching walnut swelled skip-line checkered forearm. LOP: 13-3/4". DAC: 1-3/16". DAH: 2-5/8". CALIBER: 22LR. S/N: 15017. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Overall 98% with light handling marks as professionally refinished. Excellent bore and mechanics.
