Rare Roger Lambert Cane Gun
Made by Roger N. Lambert of Lyme, New Hampshire in 1832, making it one of the earliest examples of this type of weapon. Cane measure 33" over all with a 41 caliber smoothbore barrel. Cane has a Rosewood shaft with an Ivory handle. When handle is pulled back, a trigger is cocked, and when pulled hits a percussion cap and weapon is discharged. Cane has a brass ring holding firing mechanism and a brass folding tip covering the bore. Item comes with extensive research on Lambert and his connections to other New England Gunmakers, such as Ethan Allen and Asa Waters. Truly a one-of-a-kind item. John Estock Collection CALIBER: 41. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Overall Good with shaft having most of its original varnish. Brass is unpolished with golden patina. Handle has been repaired and pieces of the original handle are with the item. Mechanics are loose and need attention. Interesting item with great research accompanying it.
