.577 caliber, 9.25" barrel, NSN. Blued finish with varnished walnut stock fitted with brass furniture and sling bar. Blade front sight with folding leaf rear sight. Barrel marked throughout with British War Department arrows, military proofs, and inspection markings including "[crown]/X/6" and "[crown]/X/8". Lockplate marked rear of hammer with "[crown]/VR", with "1869/ENFIELD" along with broad arrow forward. Ramrod, ramrod pipe, saddle ring, saddle ring bar, triggerguard, lockplate, and buttcap all marked with "7" numeral. Lock internals marked with matching "[crown]/E" inspection marking, as is ramrod. This piece was likely a British Pattern 1856 Carbine before being converted to the Snider breechloading system. **Good condition overall. Bluing has thinned to a dark streaked gunmetal patination with some oxidation to breech. Lockplate has been cleaned internally and externally. Some handling marks and blemishes to stock. Action is tight and functional with a good bore.** $3,000-$5,000
