.44 Cal SN: 285 Antique single action revolver formerly gifted from Michael Wayne to Tom Kane, a Bat Jac employee and script writer for the Wayne Production Company. Prior to his death, John Wayne and his son Michael would taunt Tom Kane with this revolver alleging history of it belonging to Poncho & Trinidad Villa and that it had been gifted to John Wayne by a relative of Villa in the early days. Sold previously at our May 2007 auction for $8,000.00 hammer price. Features a nickel plated finish, 7 1/2" barrel, ejector rod with large webbed housing, blade front sight, 'u' notched rear sight, fluted six-shot cylinder, smooth wide trigger, knurled hammer spur with cone shaped firing pin, no observed caliber designation, monolithic frame/grip frame with lanyard ring on the butt and two-piece smooth ivory grips. Revolver retains nearly 30% of it's original nickel plated finish with the balance of the metal surfaces displaying a smooth aged grey patina. Action is sound , the bore good with some scattered pitting, markings are very good and the period ivory grips are very good with age. Condition is NRA Very Good. ***Antique Firearm***
