Manufactured June 1940 according to date code "PJ". Features a 30" blued ventilated rib barrel with a nickel bead mid-barrel and white bead front sight. Chambered for 2-3/4" shells with modified choke. Beautiful floral scroll engraving extends 1-1/2" from the muzzle on both sides of the barrel and 3" from the action. Blued receiver has 90% engraved coverage by master engraver Neil Hartliep. Left side features three game scenes; pheasant in flight, two hunting dogs, and a duck in flight all surrounded by floral scroll design with punch dot background. Floral scroll design extends to the top. Right side features three game scenes; quail in flight, two hunting dogs, and a grouse in flight all surrounded by floral scroll design with punch dot background. Bottom of receiver features a floral vine border with star designs near loading port. Diamond cut bolt and follower. Bottom of trigger guard is engraved with floral scroll design surrounding a dog's bust, equipped with a crossbolt safety. Nicely figured walnut stock with hand-checkered full pistol grip with a factory cap. Matching trap/skeet style forearm with hand-checkering. Fitted with a brown Pachmayr ventilated recoil pad. CONDITION
Retains 95% finish with light handling and field action wear. Stock shows some crazing in the stock and faint field wear. Great bore and mechanics.
