Model 1884 Trapdoor Springfield carbine in .45-70 caliber, Serial #379767 showing mottled Indian style red ochre paint and evidence of having been wrapped in a blanket, which removed finish and texture. Allcorrect carbine features and small parts. Traces of blue in smooth brown patina. Good lock markings, the bore is worn from extensive firing. This gun is just the way collectors like to find them and only 14numbers off a documented 10th Cavalry “Buffalo Soldier” ID’D carbine. Est.: $700-$1,400. (Antique).
