S&W Double Action 3rd Model .38 caliber revolver, factory engraved, nickel plated, special silver trimmed grips noted in factory letter dated August 27, 2002 and signed by Historian Roy Jenks, S/N 214956 was shipped to Von Lengerke & Antoine inParis, France on September 10, 1889. A fully researched documenting letter by noted author and expert R.L. Wilson identifies the ornate exhibition quality grips to the Tiffany workshop. A collection of magnificent Tiffany decorated arms has recently been displayed with several donated to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by Dr. Jerry Klas. Richly decorated Tiffany Arms are the Zenith of artwork on American firearms. The revolver remains in excellent condition 95%-98% overall.Rare and museum quality. Est.: $17,500-$35,000
