AMERICAN WAR PERIOD BELT AND HOLSTER SET. 1. Black leather belt fitted w/ a medium tongue, post 1863, officers' brass belt plate. Belt plate has spread wing eagle w/ the national motto & the olive branch motif. Belt is marked "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL" / "L.L.R." on tab. CONDITION: belt has seen considerable use but remains w/ tight stitching & lightly stained appearance. 2. First type .38 caliber revolver holster constructed of black bridle leather embossed US on the body & marked on the outside of the flap "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL" / "W. T. G.". Flap is secured w/ a brass finial. The flap & loop are secured by brass rivets to the body of the holster. Plug at bottom of body has drain hole in center. CONDITION: holster has seen considerable service but remains in good condition w/ legible markings & tight stitching. Holster flap has some flexing & a sm. amount of insect damage underneath not visible when flap is closed. 3. "J.E.B." Stuart saber attachment. Made w/out spring loaded catch. The brass hook is marked "13" in two places. The black bridle leather straps w/ brass studs are unmarked except for "B 13" on the long strap. CONDITION: straps have wear, scuffing & considerable flexing. Brass parts are mostly patina w/ wear & staining. 4. 1896 pattern revolver cartridge box. Black bridle leather box w/ 2 belt loops is embossed U.S." on the flap & is marked on the back w/ "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL", "F.C.", "A.W.". 12 Cartridges are contained in the wooden block insert. Flap is retained by brass finial. Box contains wooden block drilled for 12 cartridges. *Lot contains no ammunition. CONDITION: box has wear, flexing and scuffing while maintaining a good visual appearance. 5. 1896 pattern revolver cartridge box. Post 1902 Russet leather box. Flap is embossed "U.S." and retained by brass finial. Box is marked on back between the 2 belt loops, "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1903", "H.E.K.", "R.S.". Box contains wooden block drilled for 12 cartridges. *Lot contains no ammunition. CONDITION: box has very light wear & staining. Stitching is tight.
