SCARCE SWISS ARMY MODEL 1900 LUGER, SN 772,
COMMERCIAL HOLSTER W/ STRAPS. Cal. 7.65mm Luger. S# 772. This is an excellent, first series, second variation Swiss Model 1900 Army Luger with the relieved frame and correct, updated magazine. This early pistol, with rust blued finish and strawed small parts, has the desirable early features: dished toggles with toggle lock, flat breech bolt with early flat spring extractor, narrow trigger, narrow grip safety, and first pattern thumb safety with the large checkered head. It has the standard 4.75" fast taper barrel chambered in 7.65 Luger with the Swiss Cross in Sunburst over the chamber and DWM marked toggle. It has the Swiss Army acceptance proofs on the barrel, barrel extension toggle train and rear of the frame with the early small boxed Swiss Cross/V acceptance proof of Herr Vogelsang. Disassembly shows all matching numbers. MAGS: correct Swiss with the tin plated body and unnumbered wooden base with the metallic discs on each side. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: early, unmarked brown leather commercial holster with the original shoulder strap. A previous owner"s name (Stark) is hand written inside the holster. The medium brown holster is also in near excellent, almost new condition with intact stitching and some minor rubs on the top corner of the flap, lower toe and the face of the belt loops. CONDITION: near excellent with 98% of the original blue finish with a hint of edge and high spot wear on the muzzle, front edges of the frame rails, edges of the sideplate hump. The majority of the wear is on the lower front grip strap. Small parts retain 85% of their straw colors with most wear on the face of the trigger. Discreetly import marked using a fine laser etching method in an unobtrusive area. The grips are near excellent with nice distinct, sharp checkering overall. Hand cycles and dry fires correctly with a near excellent bore. A beautiful, no-excuse, M1900 Swiss military Luger, well suited to the picky collector. PROVENANCE: From the esteemed collection of Paul Regnier, Switzerland. (20-1413/LA). CURIO. $5,000-7,500.
