Oversized copy of an FN Browning Model 1900 semi-automatic pistol mfg. in China at the Shanghai Arsenal between 1916 and 1921. Pistol is devoid of any markings save for the S#, which is present on the left side of the frame, interior of the frame, left side of the slide, as well as on the left side of the rear sight base. Left side of the frame features a lanyard loop, with the rear being slotted for a stock attachment. Blade front sight with a V-notch tangent rear sight. The consignor tag reads, "Purchased 12 Feb. 2011 from Maj. Sidney Reade (Ret. A. Force), a WWII souvenir from Mindanao, Philippines, by his father, Sidney Reade PFC, America, and 1st Cavalry Div." CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with scattered marks from handling and storage present overall. Grips exhibit smoothing and scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Leather holster remains malleable, exhibiting wear, with some age-related cracking and crazing overall.
