Cal. 45 ACP. S# 204866. Bbl. 5 1/2". Round blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. Matching numbers on frame, bbl., cyl., and extractor. Right rear of frame has Brazilian crest with 1937 date. Backstrap has a "23459" number. Blued finish with case-colored trigger and hammer. Lanyard ring is present on the bottom of the grip frame. Checkered hardwood grips with silver S&W medallions. Grip screw is damaged and not moving. CONDITION: grips show overall heavy checkering wear, a couple chips, scattered dings, and handling marks. Trigger and hammer have mostly faded to gray with traces of case colors and scattered oxidation. Balance of metal retains 40% original blue with scattered fading to gray, edge wear, pitting, and oxidation. Action appears to function properly when hand-cycled. Very good, bright bore, with some light pitting but strong rifling. (24-5146/MJC). CURIO. $300-500.
