Known for our diversity in game and quality animals we pride ourselves on offering our clients supreme hunting experiences. Spiral Horn Safaris operates from its privately-owned base stretching over 26,700 acres. This private game ranch is managed by Louis van Bergen, outfitter and owner of Spiral Horn Safaris. All our game is hand-picked and manicured by Louis leading to great quality animals for our clients. Spiral Horn Safaris is focused on personal attention and one-on-one interaction with each of our clients. Louis is always in camp and present on every hunt. The hunting area is mainly bushveld consisting of trees, shrubs and some open spaces here and there. We offer a large variety of trophy animals at Spiral Horn Safaris. Our bushveld habitat makes for prime hunting of most of the African Game species ranging from Big 5 to the tiny Klipspringer. Buffalo, Rhino, Sable, Roan, Golden Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Giraffe, Kudu, Nyala, Springbuck, Eland and many more roam freely on over 8,000 hectares. Buffelsvlei Lodge is the main Lodge at Spiral Horn Safaris and offers 4 en-suite thatch roofed chalets. Each chalet is tastefully decorated with an African feel. Entertainment is done around the open fire in our rock boma. Snacks and drinks are enjoyed next to the fire whilst sharing the days hunting stories. Additional hunters are welcome at $400/person and observers at $200/person. This hunt may be upgraded to include additional species form the current price list but must be taken during the 2020 hunting season. Hunt can be taken by rifle or bow. No merchandise items will be shipped until HSCF receives confirmation of full payment. Merchandise will be shipped within thirty (30) days after auction closes and payment confirmation is verified.

Our mission: Preserving the sport of hunting through education, conservation and the promotion of our hunting heritage.
Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve the sport of hunting through education, conservation and the promotion of our hunting heritage. Our members come from a diverse background and have a wide variety of hunting, fishing, outdoor and other interests. But they all have one thing in common-their passion for the outdoors, a love of hunting, a commitment to the responsible management of our national resources, the education of future generations and the responsibilities of being hunter-conservationists.
How do we effect change? HSCF has awarded 525 scholarships totaling $2.25 million dollars. We conduct youth outdoor education programs, career training, hunter education and field experiences throughout the year. HSCF has provided over $3.7 million in grants for hunter-funded conservation initiatives including research, habitat protection, species proliferation, wildlife management, water projects, urban sprawl projects, anti-poaching campaigns and other efforts.

Houston Safari Club (HSC) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization dedicated to legislative and policy initiatives that may affect the future of hunting. HSC supports initiatives that protect the tradition of hunting and hunters’ rights. We take an active role in efforts to effect policy, protocols and legislation. HSC collaborates with legislators, key opinion leaders, policy groups, professional organizations and governments at home and abroad.
Live Auction Rules
§ When bidding from the floor, raise your hand high and, if necessary, stand to get the attention of the auctioneer or one of his spotters.
§ The auctioneer and his staff are responsible for the auction. Their rules must be followed explicitly. All decisions of the auctioneer will be final. Auctioneer and staff will decide any disputes regarding the bids during the live auction.
§ Asking questions ahead of time is encouraged. speak with the donor, visit their booth (if they are an exhibitor) and check their references. HSCF supports and promotes hunts and trips from donors who are members in good standing with their local and national hunting associations.
§ Some items, as components of donated hunts, may or may not be included unless specified. This may pertain to travel expenses to and from destination; hotel and meals before and after the hunt; alcoholic beverages; trophy dipping, packaging and shipping; gratuities and other items. Please review the details for each auction item.
§ Most hunt donations, unless otherwise specified, are for the 2019 season. All trips, unless otherwise specified, expire January 31, 2020. Special arrangements other than as set forth in the auction description are expressly between the donor and the auction winner.
§ Some non-hunt donations may require delivery and installation at your expense.
§ It is the bidder’s responsibility to read the HSCF Disclaimer of Liability for Goods & Services. By bidding on any auction item, whether in person or online, the bidder agrees that they have read, understand and agree to the HSCF Disclaimer of Liability.
