LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH CASE. Cal. 7.65x21mm Parabellum. S# 88802. Bbl. 3 13/16". Model 1923 Commercial Luger mfg. by DWM for commercial sales. The bbl. extension is marked with a spurious Great Seal of the United States over the chamber, with a Crown/N commercial nitro proof stamped on the left. Right side of bbl. extension and frame exhibit spurious A.F. Stoeger markings, with "A.F. STOEGER INC/ NEW YORK." in particular, appearing to have been hand engraved. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Frame is marked "SAFE", with "LOADED" marked on the left side of the extractor. Major metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish, with the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, and ejector exhibiting a reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, which have been revarnished. All serialized parts have been renumbered to match. MAGS: 1 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: custom wood display box containing a reproduction manual and an informational plaque. CONDITION: excellent, as refinished, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their reapplied finishes overall. Dark pitted bore, retaining poor rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Left grip panel exhibits a small chip to the right of the safety lever.
