Smith & Wesson Model 37 .38 Chief's Special Airweight Double Action Revolver, #156249, .38 Spec. cal., 2'' (1-7/8'') pinned barrel, blue finish, factory checkered square butt PC magna walnut grips numbered to the gun with S&W medallions, serrated ramp front sight and standard square notch rear sight, on a 5 screw J-Frame with Type 2 thumb latch. Shipped May 21, 1960, with Smith & Wesson factory letter signed by Roy Jinks confirming that it is a Model 37, although it is not Model marked. In two-piece blue S&W box numbered to the gun. Box also contains a packaged cleaning kit, parts list/instruction manual, warranty card, warranty station brochure, and S&W packing paper. Condition is near excellent with 99%+ factory bright blue showing a moderate index mark on cylinder. Hammer and trigger exhibit good case colors. Crisp grips and action, bright bore.
