Sako Ruhimaki Bolt Action Rifle in .222 Rem. Caliber. Custom stocked in 1964 by Leonard Brownell for legendry writer and rifle man Jack O’ Conner, S/N 51330. This rifle is mentioned and described in “Jacl O’ Connor, The Legendary Lifeof America’s Greatest Gun Writer” by Robert Anderson. The text describes this rifle as “Jack’s Pet” and the fact it was sold to Fred Huntington of R.C.B.S. The rifle shows a beautiful light colored burl stock with fancy and excellentaccomplished hand checkering milled butt plate and grip cap. Beautifully blued in rich royal color and accompanied by a Leupold scope. In fine to excellent condition as upgraded at the time of customization by Brownell who was considered among the best stock makers of the 1960s. A stock of this quality would be very expensive at today’s gunsmith rates and the history and provenance to O’ Conner is impeccable. Copy of the book is included. (C&R) Est.: $3000-$6000
