Manufactured in 1918 through Colt contract.?Remington UMC Pistols were only manufactured from 1918-1919 and had their own specific serial number range from 1-21676 with this one bearing "12707" in middle of production. Full size model 1911 featuring a 5" barrel, period correct iron sights, manual thumb safety and grip safety and lanyard loop. Left side of the slide features Colt's patent dates, the Remington UMC circled logo, and a three line Remington Arm's address. The left side of the frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and marked with the "E.E.C." Inspectors mark for Major Edmond E. Chapman who was responsible for the entire Remington-UMC production inspection. Right side of the slide is stamped "MODEL OF 1911 / U.S. ARMY CALIBER 45" with the serial number stamped below on the frame. Fitted with original diamond checkered walnut wood grips and includes a WWII US GI 8 round magazine. CALIBER: 45 ACP. S/N: 12707. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Retains 70%+ original finish with some areas turning a gray tone. Grips show a few minor dings and wear in the checkering. Light frost on the bores and great mechanics.
