Scarce brass cartridge box with Patent dates from Civil War era and generally attributed to use with Henry lever action rifles and Frank Wesson .44 RF longarms; in overall very good condition with a pleasing dark patina to brass with top of hinged lid marked “PATENTED. Jan 27, 1863/REISSUED APL. 14.63.”; also dealer marked on the lid “B. KITTREDGE & CO.”. Est.: $1,250-$2,500.
