Scarce original leather scabbard for a Winchester Model 1873 rifle, marked on leather handle support “WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW YORK” and “73” on the top of the flap securing strap; in overall very good condition showing light tooling at the top of the piece on both sides, leather sling with brass end rings. There is some scattered crazing to areas of the leather and cracking with some minor flaking along the top of the boot from normal use. The tongue of the strap securing the end also shows some cracking and wear but is complete. A very hard-to-find accessory for the classic ’73 Winchester rifle! Est.: $2,000-$3,000.
