Scottish basket hilt sword circa 1680-1710 in Pre-colodian period with hand forged basket and blade marked Ferrara in blood grooves and what may be “Andrea”. The sword measures 39” overall with 33” blade that was tipped and slightly reduced.The condition is fair to good with heavy patina and scattered light to somewhat heavy pitting. The edge shows use and sharpening during period battle. Absolutely the real thing and many were carried to the colonies in the 17th century afterPrince Charly fell and his supporters fled the English. Blade matches hilt. Est.: $1500-$3000
