Sharps Model 1878 Borchardt saddle ring carbine, .45 caliber, Serial #20400. The carbine is in fine overall condition with a 24” barrel with a post front and military tangent style rear sights. The barrel ismarked, “Old Reliable” and shows the majority of its muted blued finish with wear at the muzzle and light surface erosion noted. The receiver retains a significant amount of blue with the remainder going to patina, with the saddle ring intact. The smooth wood stocks are in very good condition showing small mars and handling marks. The butt stock ends with a checkered steel butt plate. The bore is good, the action crisp and markings aresharp. The consignor’s notes indicate that only 384 carbines were manufactured in this configuration. From the estate of Larry Gaertner. Shipping can take up to 6-8 weeks. Buyer pays all packing, material, handling, shipping costs and insurance. International Shipments will be sent to an exporter and buyer agrees to pay all costs incurred including all shipping costs, insurance, exporter fees and all custom & applicable duty fees.
Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Registration and Regulations apply and must be strictly followed.
