Revolver. S/A, D/A. 6rd capacity. .45 Hand Ejector. N Frame, square butt. Blued finish. 3 1/4" round, pinned barrel. Brazilian Contract. 25,000 Model 1917's were made for the Brazilian Government and stamped with the Brazilian crest on the sideplate dated 1937. Small S&W trademark is found on the frame's left side with "Made in the U.S.A. on the right. Patent dated on top of the barrel, and "S&W D.A. 45" on the barrels left side. . Checkered hammer spur, and checkered black rubber finger grooved Pachmayr grips.. A number of these revolvers have made their way back to the U.S. (No visible import marks) Wide serrated trigger extension added. Revolver has been refinished, probably by Brazil. Bore and cylinders appear excellent/bright. Action is crisp/tight. Grips are very good. Reblued metal finish is about 95% with minor edge wear/scratches, light tracking on the cylinder, which is plum colored. Some light pitting on sides of grip straps only visible when grips removed. NRA Condition-Very Good/Refinished. C&R Firearm.
