Early single action revolver manufactured circa 1863. Bottom of grip shows many small impact marks. Also included is a vast treasure trove of information, to include letters, books, Census records, and Confederate military service records that provide background on Anna McConnell (and her husbands), her correspondence with Jefferson Davis, and her position as a woman of influence and importance during and after the American Civil War. Included factory letter states "was probably shipped from our factory on August 29, 1863, and delivered to Charles Gibbs, Springfield, MA. This shipment was for a 6 inch barrel, full plate finish, and smooth rosewood grips. There is no mention of any engraving or inscription in the records". Condition is NRA Fine *** Antique Firearm ***
