Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector Second Model Double Action Revolver, #36622, .44 S&W Spec. cal., 6.5" barrel, blue finish, checkered diamond center walnut grips, round blade front sight and standard notched rear sight, serrated color case hardened trigger, and checkered hammer. Frame and yoke with matching assembly numbers (84855). Barrel, cylinder, extractor, and back of right grip are numbered to the gun. Shipped to Harper & Reynolds Co., Jan. 28, 1933; with factory letter signed by S&W Historian Roy G. Jinks. Letter verifies barrel length, finish, and type of grips. In one-piece maroon "Patent/Display" box, bottom is numbered in pencil and matches the revolver. Condition is fine retaining approx. 92%-94% factory blue. Metal with tiny nicks and scratches from handling and use, predominantly on the muzzle end of the barrel and cylinder. Muzzle wear and a visible index line to the cylinder accounts for much of the finish loss. Factory lettering is clear. Approx. 75%-80% case colors remain. Grips are near excellent, checkering is sharp, smooth borders have a few shallow impressions, no major blemishes. Action cycles smoothly and locks up securely. Strong bore, bright, with well-defined rifling. Box shows general scuffs and scratches, end label is clear, corners are intact. Est.: $1,600-$2,200. (C&R/PPT)
