caliber with a 3” barrel revolver, S/N 51209 showing cattle brand engraving and inscribed ‘Audie Murphy”. This revolver was gifted by “America’s Hero” Audie Murphy to Charlie Schreiner III of Y.O. Ranch in Texas. Schreiner knew Audie Murphy well and this pistol was gifted after a hunting trip on this historic Texas ranch. Audie Murphy was the most decorated soldier of WWII and became a western movie star in the 1950’s to 60’s. The engraving is cut through the original blue in Cole Agee style with XIT, 22P and other famous cattle brands. The condition is very good plus to almost fine showing minor use and carry wear as a personal defense sidearm. A letter of documentation from Charlie Schreiner IV is included and this pistol was obtained by Robert B. Berryman. From the Schreiner gun collection before offered for public auction.
