Smith & Wesson U.S. Army Model 1917 DA revolver, .45 caliber, Serial #123795. The pistol is in very good overall condition as refinished. The barrel has been shortened and a rifle sight added. The barrel ismarked S&W DA .45 on the left side. The pistol retains approximately 95-96% of an old re-blue with showing handling marks from carry and use. There are British proofs on the right side of the barrel perhapsindicating Lend/Lease use during WWII. A trigger shoe has been added and the butt retains the US Army Model 1917 markings. The checkered wood medallion diamond grips are in very good condition with sharp checkering. The bore is dirty, the action functions and the markings are legible. The lot includes a leather snap holster marked, “C.A. HOFFMAN & SON MFRS. ARLINGTON CAL.” Est.: $300-$600. (C+R/PPT).
