Snider-Enfield Cadet Carbine single-shot breech-loading carbine chambered in .577 Snider. 19" barrel with good black-powder bore. Wood Stock. Steel bead front sight, adjustable rear sight.

A distinctly Canadian modification of the Snider-Enfield infantry rifle for use by Army Cadets. The barrel was cut down to 19" and a steel shotgun-style bead foresight was installed, the stock was cut down and the ramrod channels were filled. These Cadet Carbines were issued well into the last century. This example was a Mark II* rifle with an 1860 Enfield-marked lock plate that was originally issued to the 20th Battalion Lorne Rifles, now the Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment).

You must be 18 years of age to purchase this item; no license required as this is an Antique.
