18 bore, 9.5" octagonal to round barrel with wedding band, NSN. Bright finish with full stock. Brass ramrod pipe, entry pipe, sideplate, buttcap, and thumbpiece. Wedding band well chiseled with octagonal barrel portion showing old inlay. Top of barrel marked "P.DE CASTRO/TOLEDO AD 15(?)6". Breech with two poincons. Flat lockplate with swan-neck cock and integral faceted iron pan with fence and grooved frizzen. Lockplate engraved with floral scenes and hunting dog. Cock engraved en suite. Frizzen, pan, and frizzen spring decoratively chiseled. Brass fittings with panoplies of arms and German silver busts of classical figures. **Fair to good condition. Barrel has a mixed plumb and oil stained finish with dulling of brass along with some verdigris. Moderate wear to German silver fittings. Some minor splits and repairs around buttcap.
