Spectacular RARE 1973 Ruger Blackhawk Franz Marktl Engraved & Gold Inlaid .357 MAG Revolver
Manufactured in 1973 by Sturm, Ruger & Co. A true work of art by the late Franz Marktl! Features a blued 6.-1/2" barrel with 80% engraved coverage. Rear notch adjustable sight and ramp blade front sight. Engraving on the barrel features a floral scroll design with punch dot background. Gold scroll inlaid around the muzzle end and a double line gold inlaid near the frame, as well as a scroll pattern on the ejector shroud. The front ramp is engraved on the sides with a floral border and basketweave pattern. Six round fluted cylinder features matching floral scroll engraving with a double lined gold inlay at the rear. Coin Finished receiver and loading gate features 90% engraved coverage with matching floral scroll design, floral border and basketweave pattern with gold inlay border lines and a scroll design on the left front side. The top of the frame features a very detailed mountain goat head. Opposite of the loading gate features a detailed big horn sheep head. Bottom of the receiver is signed "F.MARKTL". Gold washed frame has 75% engraved coverage with matching floral scroll design, floral borders and basketweave pattern. Top of the backstrap features a detailed buck head. Fitted with smooth dark walnut wood grips with the Ruger Phoenix silver tone medallions. Franz Marktl was a Master Engraver artist and one of the last European trained Engravers with works commissioned by royalty and US Presidents. His works are rarely found on auction because of the high quality and attention to detail that many high end collectors seek out. CONDITION
Retains 96%+ finish, showing light handling marks. Grips show very light handling wear. Bore and mechanics are in excellent condition.
