Civil War Spencer 7-Shot Repeating Lever Action Carbine, #60209, .52 RF (Spencer .56-56) cal., 22'' round barrel having integral block-blade front sight and single-leaf adjustable rear sight; steel receiver and furniture including single barrel band, left-side sling bar and ring, sling swivel under buttstock, and steel buttplate having a sliding door opening to the magazine tube for cartridge loading; oil-finished walnut forend and buttstock. Mfg'd 1863-65. Originally blued barrel with case hardened receiver and furniture. Condition is good+, showing no original finish but an overall smooth gunmetal gray; receiver markings are not visible and serial number is weak from use and perhaps overcleaning. Stocks are smooth and sound showing a few expected dings from military use. Action functions smoothly; bore appears bright with defined rifling. This is a complete and unaltered Civil War Spencer which, after a personal shooting trial, received the endorsement of President Abraham Lincoln himself. Est.: $1,500-$2,500. (Antique)
