Made at Springfield Armory in 1928 in the style of a National Match configuration. 24" blued "Star Gage" round barrel in 30-06 caliber marked with "SA/Flaming Bomb/6-28" stamping. Standard banded blade front sight with Lyman 48S receiver sight. Blued receiver with Springfield marking on receiver with matching numbered swept handle bolt. National Match walnut "C" type stock with milled blued trigger guard. Has Springfield upgraded trigger and marksman style checkered steel butt plate. Cartouches are illegible except for a "P" in circle visible on pistol grip. CALIBER: 30-06. S/N: 1294986. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
80% original arsenal blue with handling areas turning a silvery patina. Action has traces of blue with areas of discoloration. Wood is worn with grain exposed. Pitted bore with TE of 6 and ME of 3. Good mechanics. No visible import marks. Excellent rifle to restore.
