U.S. Arsenal built sub-caliber training rifle designed to mimic the M1903 Springfield rifle. Featured parkerized refinish, 24.5" barrel stamped " S.A. Flaming Ordnance Bomb 5-37", raised, pinned, blade front sight, adjustable Lyman receiver mounted aperture sight, 5 round magazine, three-position safety, smooth faced trigger, sling swivels, and walnut pistol grip shoulder stock with finger grooved forend and knurled metal buttplate. The receiver ring is stamped "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/M1922 MII/CAL. .22" & "11040". The left lower barrel is stamped "LONG RIFLE/CART'GE ONLY". The bolt is marked "M2" and the bolt handle is stamped "NS/M2". Bore is very good/bright. Retains 95% refinish with edge losses. Wood is very good, some minor dents, stamped "55" on comb, "D28225" on underside of butt stock, and "M2" on underside of grip. GI green web sling attached.
