Springfield 2nd Model, Allin Conversion rifle, cal. 50/70, Serial #NSNV. The rifle is overall fair condition with 38” blued barrel, a rear sight missing its ladder and socket bayonet. The barrel has gone to a light gray patina with slight surface erosion. The action is patina also with the date of 1864. The smooth wood stocks show significant wear including mars, compressions and scrapes consistent with military use, ending in a smooth, crescent metal butt plate. The bore is good and the markings are sharp. However, the hammer will not remain cocked. (Antique). Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
