Made by J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company, Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts circa 1915. According to the consignor, this gun was originally purchased by Walter Black of Vinco, Pennsylvania. Rifle has a 30" blued half octagon No. 3 weight barrel with Stevens two lined address. Barrel is fitted with Globe front sight and unusual brass sight tube with Vernier tang sight and barrel being serial numbered to the gun. Case-hardened 44-1/2 action with Schuetzen double set triggers. Plain walnut Schuetzen butt stock with Swiss butt plate and matching plain walnut Schnabel forearm. Rifle comes with wooden shooting box containing original tools including a Pope grease pump, Ideal mold, Ideal priming tool, powder funnel, Ideal breech seating tool, brass steady rest, and Stevens-Pope style re and decapping tool. CONDITION
Retains 90% original blue with discoloration in usage and handling areas with traces of case coloring. Wood shows traces of original varnish and handling wear discoloration. Good bores and mechanics with tools in good condition.
