Steyr Daimler Puch "660" Mauser 8mm Rifle in good condition with wear. The rifle has rifling with freckling. This is a rare Second World War Steyr-Daimler-Puch (660 coded) K98k dated 1940 fitted with 1939 dated and correctly coded barrel. In 1939 Germany invaded and took over control of the factory and manufacturing of Radom. Germany utilized the captured receivers, partially finished parts etc, and sent them to Steyr for final assembly. This assembly first occurred in 1940, when the fewest were assembled. They restocked them and adding their own designation stamps then reissued these rifles to their own troops. A total of around 54,000 were made and with vast majority produced in 1941. Very few of these early carbines exist as most were captured, destroyed or broken up after the war. Barrel, receiver and stock have correct numbers. The bolt is NOT numbered. C&R Eligible S/N:3394
