The 1895 was the first successful lever action rifle with a box magazine and quickly gained a following among some of the world’s most famous big game hunters. The 1895 is the rifle that Teddy Roosevelt called his “big medicine”. This was the rifle that brought Winchester into the 20th century. A century after its introduction, U.S. Repeating Arms Company created this Limited-Edition Winchester Model 1895. The 1895, designed by John Moses Browning, was the last in line of historic lever action rifles created by John Browning. Teddy Roosevelt utilized the 1895 chambered in .45-70 for his larger African game and the .30-06 for the plains game and many of the North American game. This nearly 30-year-old commemorative is in pristine condition as is the original box it came in and is chambered in 30/06.
