Start with a pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 action, add a Krieger custom barrel, expertly fit that barrel to the action, chamber it in the ever popular .280 Ackley Improved, put it all into a piece of Exhibition Grade Walnut and you have a rifle anyone would be proud to own. This rifle represents literally hundreds of hours of painstaking labor from precision machining of the metal work to the transformation of a block of walnut into the stock you see here. Take a very close look at this example of the gunmakers art from the ebony forend to tip to the skeleton grip cap and metal butt plate so expertly fit to the wood. The wood to metal fit throughout is a tribute to Terry Ehrhardt’s skill as a gun builder, comparable rifles have starting prices of $15,000. Add in a Kahles 3X9 scope and the package is complete.
