Commodore Moore& #39;s Texas Navy sword belt rig with round star over anchor plate complete with both adjustable swords straps. The caste brass two piece plate features a raised center fouled anchor within an oval of 19 small stars beneath the Texas Navy lone star. The plate is unmarked. The length of black or dark blue Moroccan leather is detailed in a center row of gold embroidered oak leaves with the top and bottom edges also worked in bands of gold embroidery. Same for the sword straps fitted with fancy Rococo buckles.
Dark leather body shows moderate age cracking. Gold oak leaf
ornamentation still bright. Unpolished belt plate is dull aged brass retaining remnants of gilding on Texas Star and anchor only Straps are supple, complete and unbroken.
