Tower Brown Bess Flintlock .69 Cal. nvsn
Reproduction flintlock smooth-bore, land Pattern Musket. In British military service 1722-1838. Standard Infantry rifle of the Crown forces in the American Revolution, War of 1812. 46" Round, smooth bore barrel with front sighting stud. Hardwood stock, with brass furniture. Brass tailed escutcheon on left stock. Brass shield behind tang. Steel ramrod in place. Brass butt plate. Lock plate marked "Tower", with Crown, "GB". 5 British proof marks on barrel, lock plate. A repro sling is attached to the sling swivels. Bore appears good, but dirty, with spots of surface rust. Stock appears to have been re-finished at some point. Its in good shape, with finish loss, scratches/dings. Metal has turned a gray patina, with some areas of surface rust. Two-cock hammer locks up tight. Someone has added a brass shield around the pan, for protection against the elements I assume. Also someone has added a piece of soft metal on the hammer, under the flint.
NRA Condition-Very Good.
Antique firearm.
